How to Create and Add Content to a New RSS feed

How to create and add content to an RSS feed for an item or page on your site so that visitors can subscribe to your updates.

Open the RSS Channels Panel

From your Dashboard menu click on:

  1. Site Settings
  2. RSS Channels

In the RSS Channels panel, click on the grey New RSS Channel button.

  1. Type a name for your RSS feed in the RSS Channel Name text field.
  2. Add a description for your feed in the RSS Channel Description text field.
  3. Choose the Update Frequency from the drop-down menu
  4. Make sure you have checked the Enabled check box.

  1. Choose the frequency from the Update Frequency drop-down menu - If you would like the feed to be updated as soon as you make a new post, chose the Wildfire! option, however, for general purposes, the Once a day option is probably enough.
  2. Click the blue Save button

Once you have saved, click on the RSS Channel Items tab.

Select the Items that you would like to make part of the RSS feed.

Select the Items that you would like to make part of the RSS feed.

In the RSS Channel Items panel, you will be able to choose:

  1. the item type from the drop-down menu.
  2. any items you would like to add to the feed from the list below.
  3. Once you have clicked on an item from the list, you can move it to the opposite column by clicking on the single right-pointing arrow.

Your new feed items will be saved automatically - once they have been moved to the right-hand column you will see a confirmation message in the top right-hand corner of the window.
