How to update your DNS settings

After you have bought and registered your domain name:

Log in to your domain registrar's control panel. Use the login name and password that you created when you registered the domain name.

Look for the option to set or change name servers. The workspace for managing domain name servers (or DNS) is different for each registrar. See the registrar website or contact the registrar for help.

Replace any existing name servers with the following name servers:

How to Add the Domain Name to Your Site

After registering and pointing a domain name to the correct nameserver, add the domain name to your website.

  1. Select Site Settings from the Dashboard Menu, click on Site Domains and then click New Domain.
  2. Enter your domain name in its plain format (without http://www). Example:
  3. Specify the home page, country, and language for this domain.
  4. Specify the following options:
  • To set the domain name as the default URL for the site, click the Default URL for Site option.
  • To set the domain name as the default domain for your site's email addresses, select the Default Domain for Email option.
  • If this is your first domain name, the options are selected by default.

If you have chosen to use external DNS service for your domain name, create A-Records for both the www and non-www versions of your domain name. Then, point them to your site, which resides on one of the following IP addresses:
